For instance, Richard, a Senior Manager on the proposals team, and his wife participated in a rally that featured cars more than 15 years old. The objective was to successfully drive 650 miles from France to Croatia. And while the event was just for fun, Richard decided to collect sponsor donations to support a local cancer charity. After losing his mother to the disease, Richard was motivated to help other families affected by it. 
Edward, a Senior Consultant, has been with the company for over 25 years. Outside of work, he is a member of the Severn Freewheelers—a motorcycle organization that delivers drugs, blood transfusion units, medical equipment and samples for urgent analysis. As vans and taxis that provide this service often get stuck in traffic, Edward and his team can swiftly maneuver to their destination in the event of an emergency. Staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by charitable contributions and sponsorship, they cover an area 40 miles by 80 miles. In just over thirty months they have responded to 4,800 calls, covering over 225,000 miles in all weather. To the recipients of the service, Edward really makes a difference. 
As a Clinical Project Associate I within Perceptive Informatics, Eleanor works to capture critical data from clinical trial patients. But at the end of the day, she also devotes time to her community. Eleanor and her friends participated in a 30 mile walk for Help for Heroes, a non-political charity that cares for wounded servicemen and women. After a 12-hour journey, she and her team raised money to help soldiers get the rehabilitation and support that they need. During the week and on their personal time, PAREXEL employees touch the communities around them.
