Cardiac Safety Increases in Importance

Cardiac safety studies have become increasingly important within a drug development program. PAREXEL Early Phase supports our clients to gather cardiac safety data early in the development cycle for maximum efficiency. Our comprehensive cardiovascular expertise comes with a wide range of related services such as Intensive ECG and Thorough QT/QTc studies to access cardiac safety.

Fully Equipped Clinical Units

All of our clinical units have state-of-the-art technology for performing cardiac safety studies. The units are equipped with telemetric and bedside monitoring as well as ambulatory 5 and 12 lead Holter ECG equipment for continuous registration up to 72 hrs. Our source data capture system is fully integrated with GE Healthcare’s CardioSoft™ system which enables recording, analysis, display, and storage of high frequency ECG signals. Conventional 10-sec rest ECG and various protocols for stress Ergometry adds to permanent 12-lead registration ECG capacities (up to 4 hours). The recording system enables sophisticated ECG analyses at the bedside, both during real-time recording or in data playback mode.
