Andrea Berardi, MSc

Principal Consultant, Modelling and Advanced Analytics

Andrea is a Principal Consultant with experience in statistical and health economic modelling across a range of disease areas including oncology, auto-immune and inflammatory diseases. As a Principal Consultant in the Modelling and Advanced Analytics team, he is responsible for the quality and strategic oversight of statistical and economic modelling projects.

Andrea has experience in performing health economic and statistical analyses in Excel, VBA, R and R/Shiny, JAGS, Stan and WinBUGS. He co-authored a book on Bayesian cost-effectiveness analysis using R.

Work Experience

Andrea has several years of experience in health economics and statistical consulting, and prior to joining Parexel was the Health Economics Manager leading the health economics team at the British Medical Journal Technology Assessment Group (BMJ-TAG), mainly working as part of the Evidence Review Group (ERG) in NICE technology appraisals.


Andrea has a BSc in Statistics and Information Technology (2010) from University “La Sapienza” in Roma and an MSc in Biostatistics and Experimental Statistics (2013) from University of Milan-Bicocca. As part of his MSc dissertation project, he built a Bayesian cost-utility analysis evaluating alternative treatment strategies in the treatment of hepatitis C virus as a single information stream, integrating evidence synthesis into a fully probabilistic Markov model, programmed in R and JAGS.
