My uncle, David was very young when he was diagnosed with cancer. He put up a brave fight for 10 years against this disease. Unfortunately, he passed away from it 20+ years ago. However, while he was alive he was a photographer and worked at a shop in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. Being a photographer was something he loved more than anything.
One of his customers was a lady by the name of Nancy. Nancy was a scientist at a local biotech that specialized in oncology research. Knowing that I loved science, my uncle introduced me to Nancy and I got my first summer job working at the lab. It was really special to me that I was working in an oncology lab that was working on saving the lives of people like my uncle. That first job led to many other jobs in the pharmaceutical sector and eventually to where I am today as a quality specialist at PAREXEL.
