Calibration and Maintenance of Study Equipment SOP Considerations

While creating an SOP for the calibration and maintenance of study equipment, keep in mind:

  • Prior to any study related procedure being conducted the equipment must be calibrated.
  • Equipment calibration will be completed by certified vendor or by a qualified site member with the provided guidelines.
  • Each piece of equipment should have a certification sticker placed on the equipment or a certificate on file maintained by site director of each calibration.
  • At a minimum calibration will be done annually or as required by equipment manufacturer.
  • If equipment is noted as being out of calibration it should not be used until calibration has been completed.
