When you are creating SOPS for patient recruitment strategies and tools, you should consider the following:
- The country regulations establish the steps to follow when a recruitment strategy is planned. It is recommended to communicate the Ethics Committee (EC) about the strategies implemented before applying them. There are some strategies that are culturally unacceptable in some countries, even though they are not forbidden in the regulations.
- It is highly sensitive to follow the patients’ privacy. Subjects will be recruited either by the Principal Investigator’s clinic, database, or physician referral.
- Potential subjects will not be coerced to participate in a clinical but given as an option for medical treatment.
- Subjects will not be recruited for a clinical trial if they are currently participating in clinical trial or have participated in a trial less than 30 day.
