PAREXEL - Kim MacGuire-Wright discusses hybrid study design at DIA 2016. Just in the past 5 years, the adoption of electronic medical records with primary care physicians has increased 30%, so nearly 80-90% of all primary care physicians are utilizing electronic health records. This has dramatically changed what we can do in clinical study design. We can now take these electronic medical records and combine them with traditional EDC study design, and also combine them with other secondary data assets; such as, the longitudinal claims data to create a whole different study design that we call a hybrid study.
