General Medicine

Covering every stage of drug development for chronic conditions to rare conditions

We are proud to provide the highest quality in trial design and conduct (according to customer feedback).  We aim for meaningful clinical benefits, with the patient as our guide, yet mindful that time to market is of the essence.  We build efficiency and precision into our trial design. A team of dedicated integrated solution strategists and feasibility leaders, supported by Parexel’s peerless regulatory and market access experts, covers every stage of drug development.

From highly prevalent to ultrarare diseases, we are prepared to operate the full spectrum of study size from mega-trials for highly prevalent diseases to trials with few patients for a rare condition.  Whether a study needs to recruit 16,000 patients for a Cardiovascular Outcome Trial or a study needs only 150 patients in an ultrarare respiratory condition, we manage them all with equal importance.  We have a pulse on the latest trends and technologies to help scale a trial towards success (i.e. platform trials, adaptive designs, use of synthetic/external control arm, the convergence of real-world studies and interventional design, etc.)

Our general medicine practice is distinguished by:
  • A strong emphasis on preventative health, especially for women and those living with diabetes

  • Deep partnerships with patient and caregiver advocacy groups to inform our research.

  • Broad expertise in patient recruitment, including access to pediatrics.

  • A bird’s-eye view of trends in the various specialty areas, as well as developments in treating rare diseases, including gene therapy.

  • Extensive experience in biotech, including in Asia and studies involving novel drugs, biologics, and biosimilars.

  • Vast expertise in innovative trial design and digital medicine, including virtual, decentralized, and adaptive trials; precision and translational medicine; and sensor solutions.

  • Transparent communications throughout the drug development process, clearly articulating issues that arise such as side effects or potential obstacles to regulatory approval.

  • A commitment to building collaborative, trusting relationships with our clients.
